Homemade Matcha Lemonade with Basil Recipe. Today, learn how to make Homemade Matcha Lemonade with just 4 ingredients: matcha powder, ginger ale, lemon slices, and a sprig of fresh basil. Tasty, slightly sweet, green and rich in powerful antioxidants. The use of ginger ale is optional, because other mixtures also taste great. By using homemade lemonade , you control the amount of sugar or the type of sweetener. Decide whether it is very sweet, little or no sugar.

Unlike the typical homemade matcha lemonade recipe, this easy version requires no heating at all. Simply mix a high-quality matcha powder in a little lukewarm water and then combine it with ginger ale or your favorite lemonade.

Does matcha taste good in lemonade?

Yes of course. The earthy, fragrant, and smooth taste of matcha pairs beautifully with the tangy, tangy sweetness of lemonade. If you’re not already a matcha fan, mix some matcha into any of your favorite sodas and you’ll fall in love with it.

What is matcha?

The word “matcha” actually just means “tea in powder form”. However, most people who refer to “matcha” are specifically talking about the matcha “green tea powder”. In this matcha lemonade recipe, the matcha also comes from the dried leaves of green tea plants, which are ground into a green powder.

There are different grades of matcha – the highest quality is “ceremonial grade”. Whenever you can, use quality matcha. Ceremonial-grade matcha has the liveliest green color, the least bitter taste, and the highest concentration of nutrients. It also has one disadvantage, it is unfortunately also the most expensive.
